Life on the Streets
Patricia Colletti, Jun 22, 2006
I sometimes am in love with the streets, but then theres always every now and then I just hate being out here. I like the streets, because you get to meet new people, and you never know whats going to happen.
I dont like it when my belongings come up missing and nobody knows anything about it. I also hate it when you have no place to stay and no jacket. The only place you can go is Carls Jr. Well you get there, and they end up kicking you out. So I guess youre going to be one cold bitch.
I love to hang out with homeless people or people that are used to the streets. The majority of the homeless are very kind and giving. If they see something special or worth saving, then they will do everything they possibly can. Trust me a lot of stuff has been done for me.
I never had a real family or people that acted like they loved me and thats all Ive ever wanted. So I get to know a few individuals and if were okay, then its like one big happy family.
When I lived in Modesto, on the streets, there were a lot of underage homeless kids. A few of them were like me, no family except our street family. In Modesto, there isnt a place for underage youth to take a shower or sleep at. If we wanted to shower or sleep we had to be accompanied by a eligible adult who would say we were their children.
Thats another reason I love to live in San Francisco, because they have so many programs to choose from.
