Going Home
SICKBOY, Mar 17, 2005

loc. - chicago, il

train tracks switch backs
hot shots and cold squats
shit ain't much but it's all that i got
grain cars
cheap bars
and a body full of scars
from time spent rail side
as the cars slide
and somedays
i wish they'd co-lide
so i could find the peace
i'm dreaming of
while i watch this country fall apart
this ain't gonna be easy
but at least it's a start
and yeah maybe i'm not so smart
hopping freight
that's rollin' by like a dart
it's just i've got to get going
need to keep flowing
and these trains
they been showing me
where you and i part
in your comfy warm house
with my face in your heart
i've got your picture in my pocket
as i fly by on this rocket
hanging drunken from the side
and all those tears you cried
after you'd heard that i'd died
i'm sending this to you now, however...
this rhyme isn't meant to be clever
but i think it's just what you need
to show you i'm still out here
like the air that you breath
