fallin' for the .45 caliber girl
Winter, Dec 28, 2006

there is nothing left for me
to do but surrender
lay my arms and armor down
hold my hands up
no quick getaways
no daring escapes
i'll come quietly in the end
but oh the villain in me
he isn't impressed by this
the romance or the high
the endorphin rush of it
he craves synthesis and felonies
praying to go down hard and fast
in the proverbial blaze of lead and lust
like a 1930's gangster all shine and swagger
instead of a dull yet poetic metaphor
trigger happier my heart
lovebirds now dead on the floor
sweet nothing, i am sulfuric acid
my words eat through your jeans
every 'i love you' a cigarette burn
broken hearts no end just a means
you mortally wounded
all my sinner's pride
this the medicine
from which i'll run, i'll hide
such an injury is all
that can hope to save me
anything less my darling
a band-aid for a bullet hole
